Addressed to our 130 GOLD team...
Coach Brockner:
I felt compelled to send you this email. My coaches and players couldn't help but be affected by your players tears at the end of the game, and we give you our best.
I know what it is like to go through a season such as yours, to fight every week. It is a reminder of the lessons that losing teach us.
It is easier when we win, no doubt, but our character is tested more when we lose.
It occurred to me how professional your team handled themselves. They were not yelling at each other, they were treating our players with respect, and playing each play as hard as they could. There were numerous times my coaches and I were congratulating your boys on their hits. They played the game as young people who loved the game of football. Despite the score, our kids knew they were playing a hard hitting, gold division team. Your fans were being supportive as well.
Please send my best to your boys and to you for doing an excellent job of coaching this year. I will look forward to reading their names in the newspapers as they progress in their high school careers.
Best Regards,
Scott Kohler
